India's cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar reunited with teammate Vinod Kambli at the unveiling of Ramakant Achrekar's memorial on Tuesday (December 3) at the iconic Shivaji Park in Mumbai. The clips of childhood friends meeting went viral on social media in no time.
A clip is going viral on social sphere where Tendulkar can be seen walking towards Kambli and having a brief chat with him.
The reunion, however, left many puzzled as it concluded on an awkward note. Although the conversation’s audio was unclear, it seemed Kambli expressed a desire to sit with Tendulkar before someone approached and requested the cricket legend to leave. Fans also expressed concerns about Kambli’s health following the interaction.
Both Kambli and Tendulkar stole the limelight when they were just 14 and 15 years old. Both batters put on a stunning 664-run partnership for their school Shardashram Vidyamandir against St Xavier's in a Harris Shield match. Both players remained not out with Kambli making 349 and Tendulkar scoring 326.
Tendulkar made his India debut in 1989 against Pakistan and ended his career as one of the greatest player ever played the sport. He played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs for India and holds the record for the most runs scored in both formats. He is the only player in cricket history to make 100 international centuries.
