Following Rohit Sharma-led Team India's shocking series defeat to Bangladesh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to conduct a review meeting involving Men in Blue's skipper, head coach Rahul Dravid, NCA chief VVS Laxman and former captain Virat Kohli to address the team's patchy show in the recent times. The meeting is expected to take place post Team India returns from Bangladesh tour which has an ODI and two-match Test series left in it.
BCCI had to hold a review meeting right after India's embarrassing outing in the just-concluded T20 World Cup but due to unavailability of some of the top officials. But with less than a year in hand, it has again become the need of the hour post India's back-to-back debacle in the first and the second ODI against the seventh-ranked Bangladesh .
“We weren’t able to meet the Indian team before going to Bangladesh as some of the office bearers were busy but we will schedule it as soon as the team is back from Bangladesh. It has been an embarrassing performance and we didn’t expect this team to lose to Bangladesh,” a top-brass BCCI official told the Indian Express after India crashed in the second ODI against Bangladesh by five runs.
Despite deemed as the top side in the International cricket which is studded with star players, Team India still awaits a major ICC title since the 2013 Champions Trophy win.
