India's batting talisman Virat Kohli made umpteen records with his stunning 29th Test century on Day 2 of the second Test against West Indies, which also happened to be his 500th international match. Kohli struck a sensational 121 off 206 riding on 11 fours to help India post a big total of 438. Apparently Kohli became the first cricketer to belt century in the 500th international match.

Kohli also equalled legendary Sir Don Bradman's tally of centuries in Test cricket. It was also his first ton on foreign soil in nearly five years. He also shattered batting great Sachin Tendulkar's record of most centuries after 500 international matches. While Kohli has now whacked 76 centuries after Tendulkar had hit 75 tons after 500 international matches. Not just this Kohli also smashed the all-time record of most runs after 500 international matches. Kohli now has amassed 25082 runs in 500 international matches as the previous best was held by Ricky Ponting.

Impressed by Kohli's batting wizardry, West Indies' legend Courtney Walsh showered immense praise on India's former skipper. As per Walsh, Kohli is just behind Tendulkar in his list. Kohli reminded the 60-year old legendary cricketers Javed Miandad and Graham Gooch.

"Well, as an Indian great, I would rate him just behind Sachin. Sachin is one of the greatest I have seen and played against," Walsh told JioCinema.

"Brian Lara, Viv Richards, I will put them up from a West Indian point of view. Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh. Two gentlemen I played when I was a youngster, Graham Gooch from England and Javed Miandad, who probably did not play as many games. But the value they put on their wickets reminded me of Virat Kohli as well, he doesn't want to go. So I will definitely have him in my top 4, top 5 greatest cricketers I have seen," he added.

Walsh also talked about a chat he had with Kohli when the latter was India's skipper.

"He has got the passion for the game, he wants to leave a mark in the game. I remember having a conversation with him when I was the selector for West Indies, and he was the captain. We were having a chat. You could tell that he wants to be the best. He was willing to seek out advice from anyone that will help to do so. I am not surprised by the achievement. The passion he has and the drive he has to be the top 3, top 5 in everything he does," Walsh concluded.
