Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni set the Ekana Cricket Stadium ablaze with his unbeaten knock of 28 runs off just 9 balls. His innings included three boundaries and two big six. Dhoni helped CSK add 34 runs in the final two overs and post 176/6 in 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants in match 34 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, on April 19 (Friday).

 

Dhoni steal show in Ekana

 

MS Dhoni hit a beautiful scoop shot against Mohsin Khan in the 19th over to hit a six and then in the final over, the star wicket-keeper batter hit Yash Thakur for a 101-meter six. Dhoni added 16 runs in the final four balls of the CSK innings and helped the visitors post a fighting total.

The legendary player has also completed 5000 IPL runs as a wicket-keeper. This is another historic milestone for the icon. In this season, Dhoni has hit 57 runs off just 16 balls while batting in the 20th over. He has batted five times in this season and has not been dismissed even once.

Apart from Dhoni's heroic cameo of 28 runs off 9 balls. Ravindra Jadeja's fifty (57 not out off 40 balls) and knocks from Ajinkya Rahane (36 off 24 balls) and Moeen Ali (30 off 20 balls) also contributed well and helped their team reach a fighting total of 176 runs.

 

Lucknow Super Giants now need 177 runs to win but it will be a difficult task in front of the in-form bowling line-up of Chennai Super Kings.
