Veteran spinner will take charge CSK's new High-Performance Centre.

The veteran player Ravichandran Ashwin is set to return to the India Cements group. As part of this deal, Ashwin will also be taking charge of the Chennai Super Kings High-Performance Centre, which will be set up on the outskirts of the city and is expected to be fully functional before the beginning of the IPL 2025 season. The transfer move also implies there is a big chance that Ashwin could potentially rejoin CSK at the mega auction later this year. A potential trade of players between CSK and RR is out of option because of the auction but CSK would have the chance to make a trade if they are unable to get him on board in the auction.

CSK CEO Kari Viswanathan also revealed that Ashwin would be taking charge of CSK's new high-performance center. However, he did not give any major remarks on getting him on board for IPL 2025.

"That totally depends on the auction dynamics because we can’t have control over it. We have to wait and see if the opportunity presents itself. First up, he will be taking charge of our High Performance centre, and will handle the cricketing side of it including the programmes and everything. We have signed him back. He is now part of the CSK venture and will also play for the India Cements teams in the TNCA First-Division," Indian Express quoted CSK CEO Kari Viswanthan

Ashwin on his new role

The premium spinner revealed his primary focus currently to be growing the game and contributing to the franchise. He is also set to complete the formalities in the coming week.

"Growing the game and contributing to the cricketing fraternity is my primary focus," Ashwin said on his new role.

Ashwin will be working for India Cements and CSK for the second time. In the wake of joining the set-up at the beginning of his IPL career, Ashwin parted ways with India Cements in 2016, joining their opponents Chemplast. In 2018, Ashwin changed joined Take Solutions, the company that owns Dindigul Dragons, the team he plays for in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
