The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will look to extend their title rush when they meet last year's finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the IPL 2022 season opener on March 26 at Wankhede. Last year MS Dhoni-led CSK defeated KKR by 27 runs to clinch their fourth IPL trophy, one short than five-time champions Mumbai Indians.

The all pepped-up Yellow army will fancy their title chances against two-time winners KKR, who will be led by the newly recruited skipper Shreyas Iyer.

A total of 70 league matches will be played from March 26 to May 22. The playoffs dates have not been finalised yet but the final will be played on May 29. The matches will be held across four venues in Maharashtra. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will play hosts to 15 games each.
