Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow led the charge for Punjab Kings (PBKS) during their 54-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, May 14. It was an important win for PBKS, who have now staked their claim on a place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 playoffs.
Livingstone hit a brilliant 70 runs off just 42 balls at a strike rate of 166.66. His innings helped the team post 210 runs, which the RCB batters failed to overcome, scoring just 156 runs in what was an easy win for Mayank Agarwal's team.
The Englishman's innings was a crucial one personally as well. Livingstone now has 385 runs, having scored his highest runs for the season. He now has an average of 35 runs, while also striking at a rate of 180.75.
