With Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 around the corner, the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are gearing up for their opening clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) on March 27 at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The high-profile MI won their last IPL trophy in 2020 where they defeated DC by five wickets in the summit clash. All the five trophies that Mumbai Indians won were in the Rohit Sharma regime as captain.
A total of 70 league matches will be played from March 26 to May 22. The playoffs dates have not been finalised yet but the final will be played on May 29. The matches will be held across four venues in Maharashtra. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will play hosts to 15 games each.
