13-year-old India star enters IPL auction.

He becomes youngest player to be part of IPL auction.

204 players are expected to be sold at the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction, which will make history by putting a 13-year-old player in the auction-player list in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar is one of the 574 people on the shortlist for the 2025 auction. The left-handed batter will be available for purchase in the ninth uncapped batter list, where he is ranked 492nd in the list. The base price for him is Rs. 30 lakhs.

After getting included in India's squad for the forthcoming Men's Under-19 Asia Cup 2024, the young cricket player made it into the limelight. In his quick ascent through the Indian cricket ranks, this is yet another significant achievement. Suryavanshi made news earlier this year when he became the eighth-youngest first-class cricket player in history when he made his debut for Bihar in the coveted Ranji Trophy at the age of just 12 years and 284 days. He became known as one of India's most promising young talents as a result of this accomplishment.

In a youth Test match against Australia's U19 squad, Suryavanshi also lit up Chennai's M.A. Chidambaram Stadium with a spectacular century for India's U19 team. At 104 runs in 62 deliveries, the young player's knock made headlines. In the youth Test format, he also became the youngest player to ever score a century.

James Anderson to create history as well

The oldest player to be listed on the list of players who will be put under the hammer is James Anderson, the renowned English pacer, who is 42 years old. The English veteran is hoping to make his IPL debut after recently retiring from international cricket. He still feels that he can contribute more as a player, and he hopes to get the opportunity to participate in the competition in order to gain more knowledge about the game's shortest format.

It will be intriguing to see who would hire the Englishman because he has a lot of expertise playing the game's longest format. Anderson finished with 704 wickets, making him the most wicket-taker among fast bowlers and the third-highest-wicket-taker of all time, behind players like Shane Warne (708) and Muttiah Muralitharan (800). This puts Anderson among the greatest bowlers of all time.
