KL Rahul tonks scorching 67-ball 152 against PBKS
Rahul, who was dropped by Shashank Singh at 12, maximised his early lifeline to deliver a historic performance, smashing the fastest century ever recorded by Delhi Capitals (DC) batter in the IPL. In doing so, he eclipsed Virender Sehwag’s 15-year-old record—a 48-ball century scored against the Deccan Chargers in 2011.

Rahul gets past Chris Gayle's record
This innings marked Rahul’s sixth IPL century, allowing him to pull level with Chris Gayle for the second-most tons in tournament history. He has now joined an elite group of only four batters who have scored more than five centuries in the league, alongside Virat Kohli (8), Jos Buttler (7), and Gayle (6). Furthermore, Rahul achieved a unique distinction as the first player in IPL history to record multiple centuries for three different franchises: two for the Punjab Kings, two for the Lucknow Super Giants, and now two for the Delhi Capitals.
Rahul's ruthless batting breaks PBKS' back
Rahul ruthlessly dismantling both pace and spin. He did not simply rely on capitalising on poor deliveries; instead, he pressured the bowlers into errors, forcing them off their lengths. Against Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul adopted a disciplined strategy, focusing his attack through the V to avoid the risks associated with cross-bat shots on a surface expected to slow down as the day progressed.
He served as the primary aggressor in a dominant partnership of over 150 runs with Nitish Rana, who provided excellent support with a brisk half-century. Together, the pair capitalised on a Punjab Kings bowling attack that was further hampered by sloppy fielding. Rana was particularly destructive, notably punishing one of the season's top performers, Xavier Bartlett, by taking 28 runs off a single over.
Throughout the innings, Rahul displayed remarkable physical endurance and determination. Despite the grueling heat in Delhi, he remained focused, sprinting hard between the wickets and maintaining his intensity well beyond reaching his milestone, ensuring he stayed at the crease to drive his team toward a massive total of 264/2. His innings was decorated with 16 fours and nine sixes.
