Former India captain Sourav Ganguly believes that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata as per the original plans.

There are uncertainty regarding the KKR vs LSG clash as the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) was unsure about the security arrangements for the game due to the Ram Navami celebrations. There are reports that the clash will be shifted to Guwahati.

The former Board of Control for Cricket in India president believes that Kolkata Police will provide the security to make sure that the clash will take place at Eden Gardens. The board reportedly wrote a letter to the BCCI to address the issue. Notably, his statement referred to the tweet made by the Kolkata Police, assuring the safety measures in place for April 6.

"Just wait and watch what happens next. Have you seen the Kolkata Police’s post yesterday? I don’t think the match will be shifted. And in the IPL, I’m supporting Delhi Capitals," Ganguly was quoted as saying by News18.

As per reports, Snehashish Ganguly, president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, stated that Ram Navami might make it impossible for the Kolkata Police to provide match security. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari declared that more than 20,000 processions would be held in West Bengal on Ram Navami, raising the need for increased security throughout the state. On Tuesday, March 18, after two rounds of discussions with the city police, CAB president Snehasish Ganguly was informed by the police that they would not be able to provide enough security for the match at Eden Garden.

KKR are the defending champions of the IPL 2025 they already lost the opener clash against RCB by seven wickets.
