Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Heinrich Klaasen on April 21 became the third-fastest batter to reach 100 sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Klaasen hit a six off Delhi Capitals' (DC) pacer Lungi Ngidi at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to complete 100 sixes.
Klaasen is the 44th batter to hit 100 sixes in the IPL history. He achieved it in 52 innings. The 34-year-old is only behind West Indies' Andre Russell (47 innings) and Chris Gayle (37 innings) on the list.
Gayle leads the list of most sixes in IPL history. He has 357 sixes. The former West Indies opener is followed by India's Rohit Sharma (310 sixes) and Virat Kohli (299 sixes).

Klaasen, Abhishek's tussle for orange cap
Klaasen scored contributed with a 13-ball 37 cameo against DC, helping SRH post a massive total of 242/2 on the board. He hit three sixes during his stay at the crease in slog overs.
However, he could not take the orange cap off his teammate Abhishek Sharma’s head. The opener went on to score an unbeaten 135 off 68 balls. Abhishek is the leading run-scorer with 323 runs. Klaasen is not far behind with 320 runs.
Klaasen improves strike rate
The knock helped Klaasen get his strike rate past 150. Currently, he averages 53.33 and has a strike rate of 153.11.
Earlier, their was criticism around his strike rate compared to the previous seasons. Some suggested that the reason behind his strike rate going down is him retiring from international cricket to play T20 leagues.
“I know there’s been a lot said about my strike rate this season, but I’ve been putting the team in good positions, and I’m just doing my job,” Klaasen had said.
“I’ve been in difficult situations, and then you have to take responsibility and be mature about it. You can’t just deal with it, and that’s not how the game works. We get paid to do the job, and I don’t care about strike rate. You just have to be mature about it and find different ways of scoring ten runs an over and making sure that you still get a good score on the board.”
Klaasen will be seen in action on April 25 against his former franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR).
