India's premium pacer Mohammed Siraj has joined former champions Gujarat Titans for a whopping 12.25 crores in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The star player was part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 7 long years but was released from the squad prior to the bidding wars as they only retained three players - Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore and Yash Dayal as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore. What was more surprising was that RCB did not even use the RTM for him.
At the auction, there were expectations that they would try to add their top pacer, Siraj, to the squad, but it did not work out. But the Gujarat Titans were able to sign the top Indian speedster, who is renowned for his lightning-fast speed and capacity to draw speed from the surface. After starting his IPL career with SunRisers Hyderabad in 2017, the Indian bowler moved to RCB in 2018 and has been a consistent member ever since. With 83 wickets in 87 games, Siraj is the third-highest wicket-taker for the RCB.
Siraj to GT
Siraj is one of the first three auction picks of Gujarat Titans. They have also roped in Jos Buttler (15.75) and Kagiso Rabada (10.75). They all make great additions to the GT squad who is already stacked with players like Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan and Rahul Tewatia.
