KKR post 200/6
Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored a smooth half-century to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders to 200/6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL here on Thursday, while Venkatesh Iyer hushed his detractors with a 25-ball fifty. After SRH decided to bowl, Quinton de Kock (1) and Sunil Narine (7) fell cheaply, demonstrating the persistent struggles of KKR's new-look opening duo.

However, the groundwork for a competitive total was established by an 81-run partnership between captain Ajinkya Rahane (38 from 27 balls) and Raghuvanshi (50 off 32 balls; 5x4, 2x6). When 26-year-old Sri Lankan Kamindu Mendis made his debut bowling with both hands in the same over, a rare sight in IPL history, SRH gained an advantage in the middle overs. Before turning to off-spin against the left-handed Rinku Singh, the ambidextrous Sri Lankan bowled Raghuvanshi left-arm spin. He got rid of Raghuvanshi in the crucial over, which stopped KKR's momentum.
Iyer (60 off 29 balls; 7x4, 3x6) and Rinku (32 not out from 17 balls; 4x4, 1x6) rekindled the innings when momentum faltered and boundaries dried up for two overs. The drought was stopped by Iyer's last-ditch Simarjeet beamer, and Rinku hit three straight boundaries off Harshal Patel before Iyer hammered two consecutive fours into Simarjeet. Rinku gave up 17 runs after finishing the over with a huge six over long-on. In the 19th over, Iyer was at his most aggressive against Cummins, hitting the SRH captain for consecutive runs of 4, 6, 4, 4 as KKR achieved their first 200-plus score of the year. In the final five overs, the hosts smashed 78 runs.
Knights dominate SRH's batters
As for Sunrisers Hyderabad, they were just outclassed by KKR bowlers. Travis Head started their innings with a boundary. However, things soon went south as on the very next ball Vaibhav Arora took out Travis Head. By the third over, SRH were 9/3 as Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan followed back Head in the pavilion with both scoring just 2 runs.
SRH kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually got out on the score of 120 while chasing 201 runs. Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets each and led the attack. Andre Russell got two scalps as well. Meanwhile, Harshit Rana and Sunil Narine settled with one each.
