Urvil Patel produced one of the most explosive innings in Indian Premier League (IPL) history during Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Chepauk. The young CSK batter smashed a sensational 13-ball half-century, equalling the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history.
Patel’s breathtaking knock immediately sent fans into a frenzy, but it was his emotional celebration after reaching the milestone that truly captured attention. Moments after completing his fifty, the right-handed batter pulled out a handwritten note from his pocket and displayed it toward the cameras.

What was written on Urvil Patel’s emotional note?
The emotional message quickly went viral on social media, leaving fans eager to know what was written on the note dedicated to his father. Urvil Patel reached the fifty-run mark in just 13 deliveries, matching Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record for the joint-fastest half-century in IPL history, which was set in 2023.
Soon after completing the landmark, Patel celebrated in unique fashion by revealing a heartfelt note that read:
"This is for you PAPA. Tamaru sapnu aaje puru thayu cricketer motu banine batavyu."
The Gujarati message translates to:
"Your dream has come true today, I proved myself by becoming a big cricketer."
The touching tribute added an emotional layer to an already unforgettable innings as fans applauded the batter’s gesture toward his father. Patel looked visibly emotional while showing the note before resuming his brutal assault on the LSG bowlers.
The CSK batter eventually departed after a stunning innings of 65 runs off just 23 balls, smashing eight sixes and two fours during his stay at the crease. His fearless batting put Chennai Super Kings in complete control of the run chase.
At the time of writing, CSK were cruising at 142/2 in 12 overs while chasing a challenging 203-run target against LSG. The five-time champions looked well on course to end their long-standing struggle of chasing 180-plus totals, something they had not achieved since 2018.

CSK eye massive boost in IPL 2026 points table
A victory against Lucknow Super Giants could significantly improve Chennai Super Kings’ position in the IPL 2026 standings. If CSK manage to complete the chase successfully, they will move to 12 points and climb to fifth place in the table, overtaking Rajasthan Royals.
Notably, the only factor separating CSK from fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru would then be net run rate, further intensifying the playoff race.
