Gill and Sudharsan continue record-breaking run

GT’s innings was once again built around the sensational opening pair of Gill and Sudharsan, who scripted more history with another commanding partnership at the top. The duo recently became the first-ever all-Indian pair in IPL history to cross the 2,500-run partnership mark and continued their incredible consistency against RR.

Gill led the charge with a superb 84 off just 44 balls, smashing boundaries all around the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Sudharsan complemented him brilliantly with a fluent 55 off 36 deliveries as the pair laid the perfect foundation for Gujarat’s mammoth total.

The opening stand completely took the game away from RR early in the innings before the middle-order capitalised on the momentum. Washington Sundar chipped in with a quickfire 37 off 20 balls, while Jos Buttler added 13 off 10. Rahul Tewatia then provided the finishing touch with an explosive 14 off just four deliveries.

For RR, Brijesh Sharma emerged as the most successful bowler with figures of 2/47 in four overs. Yash Raj Punja claimed one wicket while conceding 37 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja also picked up one wicket for 34 runs.

In reply, Rajasthan’s batting lineup failed to cope with Gujarat’s relentless bowling attack. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi provided early fireworks with 36 off just 16 balls, while Dhruv Jurel scored 24 off 10 deliveries. Jadeja fought hard with a 25-ball 38, but no other batter managed to build any meaningful resistance.

GT’s bowlers completely dominated the chase, led by Rashid Khan, who delivered a match-winning spell of 4/33 in four overs. Jason Holder claimed three wickets for 33 runs, while Kagiso Rabada picked up two wickets. Mohammed Siraj also chipped in with one scalp.
