Rajasthan Royals (RR) grabbed attention during their ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) after stepping onto the field in a special pink jersey at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The unique jersey is part of the franchise’s social initiative aimed at empowering women and supporting rural communities in Rajasthan.

RR's pink jersey initiative explained
The pink jersey worn by RR against GT is linked to the franchise’s “Pink Promise” initiative, a joint campaign launched by RR and the Rajasthan Royals Foundation.
The initiative uses cricket as a platform to promote women-led transformation in rural Rajasthan and spread awareness around social empowerment.
During the toss, it was also announced that RR would illuminate six houses for every six hit in the match against GT.
The special jersey was designed by 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada and is inspired by the theme "Aurat hai to Bharat hai," highlighting the importance of women in shaping the nation’s future.
The initiative once again showcased Rajasthan Royals’ commitment to blending cricket with meaningful social causes beyond the field.

Yashasvi Jaiswal leads RR as GT dominates early proceedings
Stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal won the toss and elected to bowl first for Rajasthan Royals in the absence of regular skipper Riyan Parag, who missed the match due to injury concerns.
However, the decision has not worked in RR’s favour so far, with Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan putting together a dominant opening partnership.
At the conclusion of nine overs, GT had raced to 108 runs without losing a wicket, completely taking control of the contest.
Gill was batting on 45 runs off 25 balls, while Sudharsan brought up an impressive half-century, remaining unbeaten on 50 runs from just 30 deliveries.
The duo’s aggressive approach left Rajasthan Royals searching for answers despite the emotional significance attached to their special pink jersey night.
