Highlights:

Mayank Yadav is yet to play a single game in IPL 2025 since joining LSG camp.

Karn Sharma is yet to return to the side since getting injured during SRH game.

LSG may look to replace Ravi Bishnoi for the game against Mumbai Indians.

The race for the the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs is set to get more intense. Two teams with five wins each from nine games, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to go up against each other at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. LSG have lost two out of their last three games and were humbled at home by Delhi Capitals (DC). Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya-led MI have found momentum with four consecutive wins.

MI seem to have all bases covered as their former captain Rohit Sharma has regained form. The opening bowlers were ferocious against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Deepak Chahar got two for 12 in four overs whereas Trent Boult struck four times. Easy wickets will be key against LSG who have an in-form top order. MI have the tools to counter LSG's in-form batters and put pressure on the middle order. However, they will be hoping that Karn Sharma regains full fitness. In the previous game, they gave just one over to young Vignesh Puthur who conceded 15 runs.

Meanwhile, LSG are unlikely to make any changes to their side despite the defeat against DC. Their top-order needs to fire again and it will be interesting to see captain Rishabh Pant's batting position after he walked out to bat at no.7. Ravi Bishnoi has not been at his best and LSG have a chance to replace him with either Shahbaz Ahmed or Manimaran Siddharth. Also, LSG will be hoping that their tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav is fully fit. There is enough help from conditions in Wankhede for pacers with new ball and Mayank may come in handy with a few early strikes. If he is not available, they are likely to stick with Prince Yadav.
