Mumbai Indians (MI) speedster Trent Boult lavished praise on their veteran opener Rohit Sharma after his second consecutive brilliant knock in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Rohit who was unable to perform during MI's initial matches of the ongoing edition of the tournament, has regained his form during the team's last outing against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He played a match unbeaten match-winning 76 off 45 runs knock. 

After CSK's clash, Rohit again slammed 70 off 46 runs during MI's last outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad that helped MI to register a clinical seven-wicket win against last edition's finalists. Rohit scored 228 runs in his first eight outings of IPL 2025, including a highest score of 76* at an average of 32.57.

MI speedster Trent Boult picked four wickets against SRH, including captain Pat Cummins and destructive openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma believes that Rohit Sharma's form will play a key role for them in the remainder of the tournament.

"Rohit doing a fantastic job at the moment - he is playing well and timing his return to form perfectly. He is going to be key for us in the second half of the season" said Trent Boult after MI's seven-wicket win. 

 

 

After getting a bad start, MI have bounced back in the IPL 2025 with four consecutive wins in the tournament. The five-time champions who were once among last in the points table are currently on number three in the tally with five wins in nine outings. MI will now face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for their upcoming clash which is scheduled to take place on April 27 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
