Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt jokingly showed his disappointment after mentor Dinesh Karthik didn’t include his brilliant catch in a post-match social media post, calling it a “shame.”
Phil Salt's reaction on Dinesh Karthik's post
Salt had earlier pulled off a stunning moment in the field by dismissing Ishan Kishan, who was batting beautifully on 80 off 38 balls and looked set for a century. Kishan tried to guide a full toss towards the boundary, but Salt sprinted to his right from point and dived full stretch to take an outstanding one-handed catch. It was the kind of effort that could easily be counted among the best catches of the season.
RCB's social media post
After the match, Karthik shared a post with the caption “Perfect start,” featuring pictures of Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli batting together, along with Jacob Duffy and Rajat Patidar. However, Salt’s catch didn’t make it into the post, which led to his light-hearted reaction.

Inside the RCB camp, Karthik is often seen as the “mastermind,” and comments from players like Salt and Tim David suggest the same.
Phil Salt's batting vs SRH
In the chase of 202, Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost Salt early, but Kohli and Padikkal took charge and entertained the crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium with an excellent batting display.
Their styles were quite different but equally effective. Padikkal impressed with his elegant strokeplay, quick footwork, and powerful shots, while Kohli relied on his classic drives, neat timing, and his trademark flick shots.

How RCB dominated the game
Padikkal looked in complete control even while attacking. He hit a sequence of 6, 4, 6 off David Payne and later took on Harsh Dubey with back-to-back boundaries. The Karnataka batter reached his fifty in just 21 balls with a boundary off Harshal Patel.
Kohli, on the other hand, played his usual confident game, using his signature shots against bowlers like Jaydev Unadkat and Eshan Malinga. RCB got off to a flying start, reaching 50 in just four overs, scoring 76 in the powerplay, and crossing 100 in under nine overs.
