Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Prince Yadav has been one of the exciting talents. In a team that features Mohammed Shami, Prince is their leading wicket-taker and also finds himself seated at sixth place in the purple cap race. In the age of big scores, Prince has conceded at little over eight runs per over, becoming a vital cog in the wheel at LSG, with his name in team sheet written ahead of experienced Avesh Khan. While Prince is yet to make his international cricket debut, he dreams big. He intends to play in the ODI World Cup 2027 alongside Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and win it for them.
“Right now, what I want is to play with Virat and Rohit bhaiyya at the 2027 World Cup, and we win it,” Prince said in a video posted by LSG.
“Aur woh hum jeete toh unke liye bahut achi cheez hogi (If we win it, it will be really good for both of them).”
When Prince faced Rohit and Kohli in IPL 2026
In the previous match against Mumbai Indians (MI), Prince conceded 24 runs from three overs while Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma were dominating the proceedings. In his previous outing against RCB, he got the wickets of Phil Salt, skipper Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma. He conceded 32 runs from three overs but kept LSG in the game with the new ball and the middle overs before Tim David and Romario Shepherd ensured there is no anti-climax to the game.
Prince’s IPL 2026 numbers
Prince has claimed 13 wickets in the season so far from nine games at an average of 20.46. Thriving under the tutelage of bowling Bharat Arun, Prince and left-arm Mohsin Khan have been backed by head coach Justin Langer to play for India in near future.
Prince’s 50-over game record
Prince plays domestic cricket for Delhi. So far, the 24-year-old pacer has played 14 List A games, bagging 29 wickets at an average of 20.31, including a four-wicket haul. He has limited red-ball experience, getting just one wicket from two Ranji Trophy games in 2023-24 season.
