Will PBKS vs DC IPL 2025 clash in Dharamsala be postponed after 'Operation Sindoor' due to air advisory? Here's all you need to know

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will face Delhi Capitals (DC) for the 58th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on May 8, 2025. There are speculations that the upcoming clash between PBKS and DC will be postponed after 'Operation Sindoor' as Punjab is on high alert, and flight operations at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport were suspended for precautionary measures. 

Sports Tak understands that DC are currently preparing in Dharamsala for the upcoming clash against the hosts of the match, and it will be played as per the original schedule. However, if the airport remains shut for a few more days, then DC will have to travel via road for their 13th clash of the IPL 2025. After the PBKS clash, DC will face Gujarat Titans on May 11, and the clash will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

DC are currently on number five in the points table with five wins in 11 matches of the IPL 2025 and on the other hand, PBKS are currently on number three with seven wins in 11 outings. The upcoming clash is crucial for both teams to qualify for the playoffs of the 18th edition of the clash-rich league.

What was 'Operation Sindoor'?

The Indian Armed Forces launched 'Mission Sindoor' to carry out precision strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), days after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people. 

On May 7, early morning, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed, said an official statement from the Minister of Defence. 

After the mission, the Indian Armed Forces shared details bout Operation Sindoor, a targeted strike mission to destroy terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pok in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh addressed the press in New Delhi after the targeted strikes. They outlined the objectives of the operation and provided details on destroyed terrorist camps. Four of the nine targeted terrorist camps are in Pakistan and the remaining are in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
