Story Highlights:

Yuzvendra Chahal was spotted vaping on his flight to Hyderabad with PBKS team.

Earlier, Riyan Parag was caught vaping inside the dressing room during IPL 2026 match.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has witnessed a number of players and match officials violating rules. After Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag was caught vaping/smoking inside the dressing room during IPL clash, Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) senior player Yuzvendra Chahal has been spotted doing the same. However, Chahal did not do it during the game, he did it on an airplane while travelling to Hyderabad for their match on May 6. Chahal was caught smoking in a video posted by his teammate Arshdeep Singh on his YouTube channel. The clip of the video has gone viral on social media.

In addition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that they are exploring options for stricter punishment against player, officials and the team. An announcement in this regard is yet to be made.

“The BCCI is also exploring other options to initiate proceedings for stringent action against the erring team, its officials and player/s to ensure that the reputation of IPL remains intact,” the statement said.

Will Chahal face stringent action?

As Chahal did not do it smoke or vape in the stadium premises, it is yet to be seen whether an action against the leg-spinner is taken or not. The notable point is how Chahal was allowed to carry vape or e-cigarette on the Indigo flight. He may face legal trouble for carrying banned substance on the flight as well.

2 catches, 1 stumping missed off Chahal’s bowling

On May 7, Chahal had a tough day out. He got the wicket of Travis Head but a catch each of Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen were dropped off his bowling. Klaasen was in single digits when his catch was dropped by Shashank Singh in the ninth over. In the 11th over, Lockie Ferguson dropped Kishan's catch. The wicketkeeper-batter was batting on 24 then. In the same over, Prabhsimran Singh missed a stumping chance of Kishan. Both batters went on to score fifties as SRH posted 235/4 on the board. Chahal conceded 32 runs in his quota of four overs.
