Mumbai's middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan has scored yet another century in the Ranji Trophy, this time in the final against Madhya Pradesh. The batter crossed the 100-run mark in 190 balls to create many records on the way for his side. This was Sarfaraz's fourth century of the season, reaching the landmark with a four.

Sarfaraz has been in good form in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season, leading the run-scorer charts. This is the second consecutive season in which the Delhi Capitals (DC) batter has scored more than 900 runs in the Ranji.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old star has four centuries to his name in nine matches and eight innings this season. His highest score is 275 runs as well, which has helped the batter cross 900 runs for a second consecutive season.

Meanwhile, Sarfaraz averages more than 153 runs this season, which is a major event. He is the first batsman to score 900 plus runs in two consecutive seasons. He is the third player who has scored 900 plus runs twice in Ranji Trophy. Apart from Sarfaraz, Ajay Sharma (Delhi) and Wasim Jaffer (Mumbai) are two others to have completed this feat.

In his Ranji career, Sarfaraz has scored 2351 runs in a total of 24 first-class matches. These include seven centuries and seven half-centuries, with most of his tons coming in the last two seasons.

Coming to bat at number five, Sarfaraz was in charge from one end, forming partnerships with the rest of the batters to take Mumbai on course to a competitive score. When it seemed difficult for Mumbai to reach 300, Sarfaraz ensured that the team crossed 350 runs. At one point during the batting, Sarfaraz also faced injury while trying to take a run, he collided with the Madhya Pradesh bowler Gaurav Yadav and fell to the ground, hurting his head.
