ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2025 has been postponed.

The postponement came after a letter from SLC President Shammi Silva.

ACC President Mohsin Naqvi said that the revised schedule will be announced soon.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on June 2 announced that the ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2025 has been postponed. The tournament was set to begin on June 6 in Sri Lanka. But, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) President Shammi Silva wrote a letter to ACC President Mohsin Raza Naqvi seeking postponement of the event due to adverse weather conditions and the spread of chikungunya disease which is a major health concern.

"The ACC is committed to providing opportunities for young women cricketers to develop their skills and compete at the highest level," said  Naqvi in a media release.

"We understand the strategic significance of this tournament in shaping the future of women's cricket in Asia, and we will work diligently to reschedule the event at the earliest possible date."

The revised schedule is set to be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, there is a question mark on India-Pakistan clash due to tensions on the border following the Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

“Don’t see the Asia Cup happening because given the situation it would be difficult for the BCCI to get the clearance from its government to host the event and invite the Pakistan team to India,” the source told PTI.
