Ranji Trophy: Ex-KKR star tonks maiden first-class ton, SRH pacer takes fiery 6-fer for Delhi; Jaydev Unadkat impresses too

Story Highlights:

Shivam Mavi smashed a brilliant hundred against Nagaland

Simarjeet Singh took a 6-wicket haul against Jammu & Kashmir

Jaydev Unadkat impressed with 4-fer for Saurashtra against Kerala

Uttar Pradesh bowler Shivam Mavi was at the top of his game during Day 2 of the fourth round of Ranji Trophy. The 26-year-old came out to bat at No.8 with his side's total on 394/6 and went on to completely dominate against the opposing Nagaland bowlers. He played many fine shots, smacking deliveries all around the park and made sure that his team reached a formidable total in their first innings.

Mavi hit 10 boundaries and five sixes and went on to bring up his maiden hundred in first-class cricket, taking Uttar Pradesh over the 500-run mark. He was assisted well at the other end by Madhav Kaushik, who remained unbeaten on 185 runs as the team declared their innings on 535/6. However, Mavi didn't stop there and clinched two wickets in the 26 overs that Uttar Pradesh bowled on the day. Nagaland wrapped up Day 2 on 77/4 and currently trail the opposition by 458 runs.

Simarjeet's fiery spell against Jammu & Kashmir

On the other hand, Delhi pacer Simarjeet Singh recorded figures of 6/52 as they bundled out Jammu & Kashmir for 310 runs in their first innings. It was a fine 16-over spell from the bowler who featured for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025. He first dismissed both the Jammu & Kashmir's openers before going on to break the massive 141-run partnership between Paras Dogra and Abdul Samad. He did so by dismissing the latter for 85 and then went on to take wickets of three tail-enders. Delhi currently trail the opposition by 92 runs.

Unadkat shines against Kerala

Meanwhile, Saurashtra pacer Jaydev Unadkat also picked up form during his side's clash against Kerala. The left-arm pacer had failed to pick up any wickets in the previous clash against Maharashtra, but made amends for it by taking four scalps in the very next round. He recorded figures of 4/42 against Kerala and played a key role in them being bundled out for 233 runs.

Saurashtra had been bowled out for only 160 runs so they needed to restrict the opposition to a low total and Unadkat's 4-fer didn't let Kerala take a big lead. The side led by the left-arm pacer finished the day on 47/1 and currently trail Kerala by 26 runs.
