BCCI denied sending team India to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a new visual for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 which will be hosted by Pakistan later this year. There were reports that some other cricketing nation will get the hosting rights for the marquee event as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) denied sending team India to the neighbouring nation citing players' safety. However, a video shared by ICC made it clear PCB will remain the host of the tournament.

Will Pakistan host the whole Champions Trophy?

Soon after ICC's video, Pakistan media and fans started celebrating that the whole tournament will take place in Pakistan but as Sports Tak earlier reported, if the Champions Trophy shifted to a neutral venue then South Africa, Sri Lanka and Dubai will be the ideal choice for ICC to host the marquee event. However, there is a relief for PCB as they will retain tournament rights wherever it is played. So after the video, it is confirmed that PCB will get the hosting rights of the tournament but this doesn't mean that the whole tournament will take place in Pakistan.

BCCI has already informed ICC that India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy citing security concerns. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has acknowledged the BCCI's decision but has rejected the idea of a hybrid model, insisting on hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan.

The Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to start from February 19 to March 9, according to the proposed schedule. Eight teams—Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa—will compete, split into two groups of four.
