Rohit Sharma-led India are currently preparing for the two Test match series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19 and the first match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Kanpur's Green Park stadium will witness the second match which will start from September 25 to October 1.
There was a threat by Hindu Mahasabha to the second Test match at Kanpur, they said that they would protest against the visitors for the second Test match citing political turmoil in Bangladesh.
Earlier there will reports that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will shift the venue for the second Test match but a close source to BCCI revealed to Sports Tak that there will be no plan of change for the Kanpur test.

“Sports Tak asked for a confirmation whether BCCI is monitoring the situation or having a second thought (plan B) the source said yes we are monitoring and with the concerned authorities as far as those threats are concerned but we have done everything to hold that match and stadium is ready to welcome our and visitors and said it’s not going anywhere it will be in Kanpur but will keep monitoring the situation not only in Kanpur but also at the other venues” the source added.
Bangladesh are coming after registering their maiden Test win against Pakistan and they will be confident when they face India for the two Test match series.
On the other hand, World Test Championship finalists India will also look to win the Test series against Bangladesh, this Test series will be the first outing for Jasprit Bumrah since T20 World Cup 2024. After the Bangladesh series, Team India will host New Zealand for the three-Test match series scheduled to start from 16 October before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 which will be hosted by Austalia later this year. Team India will play five Test matches against Australia and will look to register a Test series win hattrick on Australian soil.
