Explained: How BCCI will split Rs 125 crore T20 World Cup prize money between players, coaches, reserves and others

The 15 squad members will get Rs 5 crore reach.

Four reserve players will get Rs 1 crore each as well.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah announced a whopping Rs 125 crore prize for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 champions. Since the prize money has been announced, there have been questions over how the reward will be divided between players, coaches and support staff. First and foremost, all 15 players of the squad including three – Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal -- who did not play a single game will get Rs 5 crore each.
 

As per Indian Express, India's outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid will get Rs 2.5 crore, the same as batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will receive Rs 2.5 crore each. The five-member selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will get Rs 1 crore each. 
 

Big bonus for men behind the scenes

The backroom staff that helped players avoid injuries has been rewarded handsomely as well. The three physiotherapists Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar and Thulasi Ram Yuvraj , three throwdown specialists Raghavindraa Dvgi, Nuwan Seneviratne and Dayanand Garani, two masseurs Rajeev Kumar and Arun Kanade and the strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai will get Rs 2 crore each.

Reserve players get richer too

The four reserve players -- Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed -- will get Rs 1 crore reach as well. While Gill was released from the squad early, the other three stayed with the team and joined Rohit Sharma-led India’s celebrations in Barbados after a thrilling seven-run win over South Africa.

Officials to get a piece of reward as well

In addition, the rest of the members of the Indian contingent that flew to Americas including video analyst, BCCI staff members, team's logistic manager will be rewarded too. However, the amount has not been disclosed yet.
 

“Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice,” a BCCI source said.
