Matt Henry ruled out of ENG vs NZ 3rd Test
New Zealand's pace spearhead Matt Henry is sidelined with a low-grade strain in his left calf, an injury that came to light after he felt discomfort during the second Test. Scans have since confirmed the issue, and the fast bowler is expected to be out of action for two to four weeks. Losing Henry is a severe blow to the visitors' bowling unit, as he has been their most lethal weapon this series, leading the wickets tally with 12 dismissals.
According to a statement from New Zealand Cricket, Matt Henry experienced discomfort during the recent Test match at The Oval. Subsequent medical scans on his left calf confirmed a low-grade muscle strain, with the board noting that initial assessments project a recovery period of two to four weeks.
The injury comes at a bittersweet moment for the pace spearhead. Just earlier this week, Henry climbed to the number one spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings, becoming the first New Zealand bowler to achieve the historic milestone in 36 years.

Injured Glenn Phillips to miss series decider too
Compounding the team's frustrations, dynamic all-rounder Glenn Phillips has also been sidelined by a side strain. He reported pain during the London Test, and while further medical evaluations are underway to determine his recovery timeline, his absence leaves a glaring hole in the lineup. Phillips has been New Zealand's standout batsman on tour, anchoring the order with a series-high 181 runs, highlighted by a brilliant century at The Oval.
