After dismissing England for just 291 runs to secure a solid 100-run first innings lead, New Zealand endured a shaky start in their second innings as both Tom Latham and Devon Conway were removed early. However, Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra stitched a strong partnership, putting together a key 161-run stand that firmly pushed the game in the visitors' favor.
At the end of Day 3, New Zealand cemented their place by reaching 252/3 in the second innings. Nicholls stayed unbeaten on 119, whole Daryl Mitchell provided valuable support with unbeaten 32. Earlier, Rachin Ravindra played a pivotal role in the second innings, scoring a valuable 76 before Jacob Bethell removed him.

While reflecting on the day's performance, Nicholls expressed happiness at getting a second chance in New Zealand's Test team. 'Just Really Enjoyed Being Back,' said Henry. While he admitted that it was a great feeling to dismiss England with a big lead.
While opening up on replacing Williamson in the Test side, Henry said he is not going to replace an iconic player like him, as he aims to enjoy his time in the longest format of the game. At the end, Henry revealed that he had a great time in stitching partnerships with Rachin and Daryl.
