The International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 23 (Tuesday) released fresh ODI Team Rankings with two subcontinental powerhouses - India and Pakistan - consolidating their position after a thumping series sweep of Zimbabwe and Netherlands respectively. The Men in Blue continued their stellar form in 50-over cricket in 2022 by registering yet another clean sweep while the Men in Green prevailed over Holland by the same margin but in a more tightly-contested series.

India improved to 11 rating points and are currently stationed at third place on the rankings while Pakistan occupy the number four place with 107 rating points in their kitty.

The Men in Blue trail England, who are second in the rankings, by eight rating points. Meanwhile, New Zealand's 2-1 series win over West Indies ensured that the Black Caps continue to occupy the summit with 124 rating points. Having said that, the Kiwis have lost some ground to the Three Lions after they lost one game against the Men in Maroon.

New Zealand, who once enjoyed a nine-point cushion over England, are just five points clear of Jos Buttler's side in the latest ODI Team Rankings.

Australia (101) and South Africa (101) are currently ranked fifth and sixth in the ODI Team Rankings.

India will next feature in ODIs against South Africa at home in October. The Men in Blue will have a chance to further consolidate their position and even scale up the rankings with a dominant display against the Proteas.
