India announce squad for Under-19 World Cup 2022, Yash Dhull to lead

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India's squad for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup 2022. The team has been picked by the All-India Junior Selection Committee with Delhi player Yash Dhull as captain. 

 

The Under-19 Team India skipper finished as the leading run-getter in this year's Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The right-handed batter scored 302 runs in five matches for DDCA at an average of 75.50 in the tournament. 

 

The ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup will be played in West Indies. The mega event will kick off on January 14, 2022 and go on till February 5, 2022. A total of 16 teams will complete for the coveted trophy in the 14th edition of the event. India finished as runners-up in the previous edition under the leadership of Priyam Garg. India were beaten in the final by neighbours Bangladesh.

 

The four-time winners India will take on South Africa in their tournament opener on January 15 followed by Ireland on January 19 and then Uganda on January 22. While the South Africa clash will be played at Providence Stadium, Guyana, the next two matches will be played at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad and Tobago.
