Young Delhi-born pacer Harshit Rana is set to make his ODI debut in the upcoming three-ODI series against England. Rana who made his Test debut in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia has been picked as an injured Jasprit Bumrah's replacement in the ODI squad.
In the press conference where the squad for ODI series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was announced, chief selector Ajit Agarkar made it clear that Bumrah will miss at least first two of the three-ODI series against England.
"Bumrah has been told to off-load for five weeks after and he won't be available for the first two ODIs against England. We are waiting on his fitness and will know his status in early February from the medical team," Agarkar said ," Agarkar said in the press conference.
Bumrah got injured during the Sydney Test and did not bowl in the fourth innings. He is set to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for his rehabilitation.

Rana's List A career
Rana made his list A debut against Meghalaya in November 2022. He hasn't played a One-Day game since December 2023. So far, he has played 14 List A games and taken 22 wickets at an average of 23.45 including two four-fers.
ODI series schedule
The ODI series against England will work as the preparatory series for the Champions Trophy 2025. The ODI series will begin on February 6 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. The second ODI series is scheduled to be played at Barabati Stadium, Cuttak on February 9. The third and final ODI of the series will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on February 12.
