England have announced their squads for their upcoming white-ball tour against New Zealand which will commence from October 18. Despite performing brilliantly in the Three Lions' recently-conluded ODI and T20I series against South Africa, pacer Jofra Archer will be missing out on the New Zealand tour.
It is likely that England have not decided to play Archer as they want to make sure that he does not get injured bewfore the crucial Ashes series. The speedster has been picked in the side's squad for the five-match Test series against Australia and will be laeding their pace attack alongside skipper Ben Stokes.
England have also decided to give another chance to Sonny Baker in the squads for both formats despite his poor performance with the ball against South Africa and Ireland. On the other hand, the ODI squad also features the returns of Sam Curran and Liam Dawson. After impressing on England's recent T20I series against Ireland, batter Jordan Cox has been rewarded and has been included in the side's T20I squad for the upcoming tour.
Brook to lead England in the tour
Harry Brook will be captaining the team in both the series and he will be hoping to get a better results than what they got against South Africa. Notably, the Three Lions lost the ODI assignment against the Proteas by 2-1 and drew the T20I series by 1-1. They did however, bounce back in the shortest format and won their assignment against Ireland by 2-0. Brook & Co. will be hoping to pick up form in both the white-ball formats.
