Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen was not happy with the many rumours flying about that he was MS Dhoni's first-ever Test wicket after the former India skipper made this claim back in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 season.

Pieterson was in the commentary box with former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Manoj Tiwari in 2017, when they were joined by the former India skipper, who said that the Englishman was his first-ever Test wicket.

Many have since teased him for the same and having had enough, he went on Twitter to express his dismay and requested anyone to share a video asking his fans and fans of the sport to prove the same.

"I’m actively seeking the clip from the Test match at Lords to put to bed all these claims that I WAS Dhoni’s first Test Wicket. I hate to break it to you - I WASN’T!" he tweeted on Tuesday, May 16.

The incident took place at the Lord's Cricket Ground during the first match of the four-Test series between India and England in 2011. They fell short of bowling options after losing Zaheer Khan to injury on the first day of play.

Before taking the second new ball, Skipper Dhoni took the ball, with Rahul Dravid taking the gloves back from him.

Dhoni got an LBW appeal turned down after hitting him on the pads but in the same over, the legendary skipper appealed for a catch behind, which was given by the on-field umpire. Pietersen immediately called for DRS and the replays showed there was no edge, with the hot spot not showing a spike.

Pietersen has received a video of the match from SKY Cricket, and cleared the air. However, he did use the space to appreciate the quality of the ball bowled by Pietersen.

Dhoni finished his career with zero Test wickets but does have a scalp in his ODI cricket to his name, having taken a scalp in the 2009 Champions Trophy against the West Indies.
