The Board of Control for Cricket in India have announced 15 member Rest of India (RoI) squad for the upcoming ZR Irani Cup which is scheduled to take place the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow from 1 to 5 October. The rest of India's squad will face the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai.
India Asian Games gold medallist captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the squad against Mumbai. Indian cricketers Yash Dayal and Dhruv Jurel who is part of India's squad against the second Test match will miss their spot as they will represent ROI in Irani Cup 2024 clash. Gaikwad recently featured in the Duleep Trophy 2024 where he was leading India C who were the finalists in the series. Ishan Kishan who smashed a century in his recent Duleep Trophy 2024 outing will also be seen in action.
“Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal have been selected in the Rest of India squad and their participation is subject to them not being involved in the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur. The 2nd Test will begin from 27th September" said BCCI in domestic release
On the other hand, Sarfaraz Khan was part of Ranji 2023-24 winners Mumbai will also be released from the squad to represent his state team in the clash.

“Sarfaraz Khan who has been retained in the Team India squad for the 2nd Test, will be released to represent the Mumbai team subject to him not being involved in the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur” added the release.
India star batter Rinku Singh who represents Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy has missed his spot in the ROI squad.
