March 4, 2023, marks a year since Australian cricket great Shane Warne sadly passed away at 52. Many of his former teammates and rival players remembered the classy leg-spinner, including Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, who penned a heartfelt message for Warne and said that he missed him 'not only as a great cricketer but also a great friend.

India's only Master Blaster took to Twitter to post his emotional feelings for Warne and is sure that the Indian Premier League (IPL) winning star was 'making heaven a more charming place with his sense of humour and charisma.'
"We have had some memorable battles on the field & shared equally memorable moments off it. I miss you not only as a great cricketer but also as a great friend. I am sure you are making heaven a more charming place than it ever was with your sense of humor and charisma, Warnie!," posted Tendulkar on Twitter.

Adam Gilchrist, who was one of Warne's closest friends, also shared a Tweet to express his feelings on Warne's first Death Anniversary. His message was actually a double tribute for Warne as well as Rod Marsh, who passed away on the same day but earlier.
He said, "To the man who inspired me to chase a dream and the bloke who was a dream to have on your side, may you both continue to RIP."

Warne is second on the list of highest wicket-takers in the red-ball format. He played 145 Tests and took 708 wickets at an average of 25.41 including 37 five-wicket hauls and 10 10-wicket hauls. Made his debut in 1992, Warne is only behind Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan on the list. The Victoria-born spinner contributed with the bat as well in the longest format. He has 3,154 runs at an average of 17.32 from 199 innings. He has 12 half-centuries to his name including a 99-run knock.
