As the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction comes the franchises have made critical player retention decisions that will shape their squads for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. The team made a lot of tough calls as five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) released Ishan Kishan, and Delhi Capitals (DC) released their skipper Rishabh Pant. Some franchises spend a lot of money on Indian cricketers and there are franchises like of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders who spend more money on overseas cricketers than Indians.
Each franchise had the option to retain up to five capped players, two uncapped players, and a total of six players across both categories.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
Lucknow Super Giants released their skipper KL Rahul and they spend most of their money on Nicholas Pooran. The franchise retained the WIndies cricketer for a whooping 21 Crore.
