There were reports in the media that India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav may decide to leave Mumbai for the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. A renowned media house reported that the GCA is in the midst of an unprecedented 'coup' against the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), taking advantage of the 'unrest' in the dressing room. The Goa state team was promoted to the Ranji Trophy Elite competition after winning six straight Plate-level matches, and they are using the opportunity to recruit players from all over the nation. Earlier, Jaiswal was reportedly contacted by the MCA in the day to obtain his No Objection Certificate and complete the transfer, with a leadership position in the team up for grabs.

Jaiswal to leave Mumbai for Goa

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has likely made the decision to leave Mumbai, his home team. Given his explosive rise in the Indian cricketing ecosystem while with the team, Jaiswal's decision is shocking to the domestic cricket scene. The left-hander, who made his Test and T20I debut for India after putting on impressive performances in the Ranji Trophy and the Indian Premier League, is anticipated to play for Goa next season.

“We are currently in talks with many players from the country. I can’t give you a name right now. We will be finalising other professional players soon," GCA secretary Shabha Desai was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

"We reached out to Jaiswal some 8-10 days back, he got back to us after thinking over it and now that he has asked for a NOC, the formalities and the required paperwork will be completed," he added.
