Harbhajan Singh slammed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's critics

Harbhajan backed the duo to play the 2027 ODI World Cup

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh slammed the critics of  both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, questioning those who are having a say on the duo's future with the national team. It is not guaranteed as to if the two will be participating in the 2027  ODI World  despite their blistering form in the format as of recent.

Harbhajan feels that there should be no questions over the inclusion of Rohit and Virat for the mega-tournament. He further remarked that those who are deciding the duo's future have not  achieved much themselves.

“It is beyond our understanding. I may not be able to answer because I have been a player myself and what I have seen has happened to me as well. It has happened to many of my teammates, but it is very unfortunate. We don’t talk about it or have a discussion about it," Harbhajan told PTI.

“I am so happy when I see a player like Virat Kohli who is still going strong. It is a bit unfortunate that those people are deciding about their future who have not achieved much," he added.

Harbhajan lavishes praise on Rohit and Virat

Harbhajan further went on to shower praise on the duo and hailed them for setting a great example for the younger generatuons. These comments come after Rohit and Virat's impressive knocks in India's recent ODI assignments. While Rohit finished as the top-scorer of the series against Australia in November with 202 runs from three innings, Virat has been exceptional in the South Africa ODI assignment so far and has scored hundreds in the first  two games.

“They have always scored runs and have always been great players for India; they have done extremely well as batters and are leaders of the team. I’m so happy for them, they are going very, very strong. Not just going strong but setting the example for the younger generation to follow and what it takes to be a champion. So, well done Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for setting the right example," Harbhajan stated.
