India's legendary captain MS Dhoni who has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket lavished praise on Virat Kohli. The former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper also revealed his relationship with India teammate Kohli. Both Dhoni and Kohli share a good bond. Both MahiRat ( MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli) last featured against each other in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 where Kohli's Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the IPL 2023 winners by 27 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Kohli debuted in India under Dhoni's captaincy and succeeded the wicketkeeper-batter as the side's full-time skipper in 2017. Kohli was part of the Dhoni-led side in the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy where India won the title. After that, Dhoni played under Kohli's captaincy in the 2017 Champions Trophy and the 2019 World Cup.

A video went viral on social media where Dhoni revealed his connection with teammate Virat Kohli. He praised Kohli as one of the premier players in world cricket.
"We have been playing together since 2008/09, and while there's an age gap, I don't know whether I would say I'm like an older brother or anything; we've just been colleagues who have played for India for a long time. He has been among the best in world cricket," Dhoni said at the event.
Even, Kohli revealed earlier that in 2022 Dhoni was the only one to reach out to him personally after the star Indian batter stepped down as Test captain earlier in the same year. Kohli always seen respecting Dhoni both on and off the field.
Both Kohli and Dhoni will now be seen in action in the upcoming IPL 2025 only if the former CSK skipper decide to play for one more year because there were speculations that Dhoni would not play in IPL 2025 citing age factors.
