Former Indian captain Virat Kohli picked Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as his favourite Indian Premier League (IPL rival on the 16th anniversary of his international debut.

Former India captain Virat Kohli who announced his retirement from T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 revealed that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as his favourite Indian Premier League (IPL) rival. Kohli who represents Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL. He recently featured for India in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka where the Island nation sealed the series 2-0. 

 

Kohli made his international debut on August 18 in 2008 against Sri Lanka and revealed his favourite singer as well as his favourite rival, here is the clip. 

Kohli is currently spending time with his family and he will be seen in action in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19. India will face Bangladesh for the two-Test match series. BCCI have yet to announce their squad for the Test series. After that team India will host New Zealand for the Test series.

Earlier, India head coach Gautam Gambhir also lavished praise on modern-day greats.  He said that Kohli is a brilliant player and has a great attitude and temperament.
 

"When he made his debut in Sri Lanka and played his first ODI, I remember he had got out early. But I knew that he would serve the country for a long time the way he was batting in the nets. He had so much talent that it was just a matter of time that he will perform and I wasn't surprised with his performance," Gambhir said in a video posted by Star Sports on X.
 

 "He was a brilliant player and had a great attitude and temperament. He knew how to fight and win matches for his country when he came into the team. It was the biggest positive of his entire cricketing career the way he won matches for his team," Gambhir added.
