Jamaica Scorpions captain Campbell and Barbados Pride skipper Raymon Reifer did not appear for the toss after the Super50 final was reduced to 20 overs per side contest.

"I sincerely regret any disruption caused during the final and acknowledge that my actions may have been perceived as resistance to the match officials' decision," Campbell said in a statement released by Cricket West Indies (CWI). "It was never my intention to undermine their authority or bring the game into disrepute. I fully acknowledge the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game and the need for adherence to the rules and decisions of the officials."

No trophy was awarded for the Super50 final. Following the forfeit, the match fee wasn't distributed. In addition, there was no prize money which was reserved for tournament champions and the runners-up.

CWI director of cricket Miles Bascombe is satisfield with Campbell's sincere apology. However, a decision on Reifer is yet to be taken as he hasn't responded to the charges so far.

"We appreciate Mr Campbell's acknowledgement of the situation and his sincere apology. In light of his admission and demonstrated remorse, CWI has applied the minimum sanction of a four-match ban for a Level 3 Offence, as a matter of leniency," Bascombe said.
