The five-time world champions are set to face Norway on Sunday with a place in the quarter-finals at stake. While Neymar remained an unused substitute during Brazil's final group-stage victory over Japan, speculation surrounding his physical condition has continued to dominate headlines.
Addressing those concerns, Ancelotti revealed that the Brazilian superstar is fit and ready whenever the team requires him.
Ancelotti confirms Neymar is ready for full 90 minutes
Speaking ahead of Brazil's knockout fixture, the Italian manager praised Neymar's attitude in training and his professionalism despite not featuring in the previous match.
"The important thing is that he can play. When I feel that the team needs him, I’ll put him in. Yes. He can play 90 minutes. He’s not satisfied, but he is behaving very well. He is training very well."
Ancelotti also highlighted the positive influence Neymar continues to have inside the dressing room, describing the 34-year-old as one of the most respected figures within the squad.
"Neymar is very respectful, kind, and well-liked by his teammates. He is an important presence in the team because he has quality and is a very humble person. I’m very happy with him."
Brazil prepare for crucial Norway showdown
Although Neymar is eager to return to the starting lineup, Ancelotti stressed that the final decision will depend on what the team requires tactically during the knockout contest.
"And obviously he wants to play, as he always has. He doesn’t say, ‘I want to play,’ but that is quite clear. And positive. A player cannot be happy being on the bench."
Brazil head into the Round of 32 as one of the tournament favourites but face a stern challenge against an in-form Norway side led by Erling Haaland.
With Ancelotti confirming Neymar's readiness, all eyes will now be on the Brazilian lineup when the Seleção look to keep their FIFA World Cup 2026 title hopes alive.
