Liverpool will lock horns with Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday, April 4. But, the Reds have are going through a big problem, as Arne Slot has dropped a concerning update.
Big loss for Liverpool
At the Press match-conference, Arne Slot announced that their star goalkeeper, Alisson Becker won't take part in the FA Cup quarterfinal clash against Manchester City and the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against PSG.
Slot said that Becker will be on the sidelines for a longer period of time, but could make a comeback towards the end of the ongoing season.
"He will not be part of the PSG game either, (he is) out for a bit longer. Towards the end of the season, we expect him to be fit," said Arne Slot.
Alisson Becker's tough 2025-26 season
In the ongoing season, Alison has endured a tough season as he faced so many injuries which forced him to stay on the sidelines for a multiple games. In October 2025, the Brazil international suffered a hamstring injury, which led him to miss nine games in a row.
In March 2026, Becker sustained some muscular issues, which forced him to miss the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Galatasaray. Becker also missed Brazil's two friendlies during this time. Becker's injury issues could raise serious doubts on his place in the Brazil national team for the upcomimg 2026 FIFA World Cup.
