Barcelona players urge Hansi Flick to keep Joao Cancelo on permanently after heroics vs Atletico Madrid

Barcelona to sign Joao Cancelo permanently?

On paper, there is no goal contribution made by the Portuguese defender, but he was a key contributor for the 88th-minute winner goal scored by Robert Lewandowski.

According to a recent report by Diario Sport, the players inside the Barcelona's dressing room had doubts on Joao Cancelo, when he initially signed up for the Spanish club, but ended up in winning everyone's trust in the side.

The report further added that Barca players are highly impressed with the Portuguese player's performance and urged Hansi Flick to keep him on a permanent basis. On the other hand, Hansi Flick wants to continue with Cancelo at the left-back position for the rest of the season.

Hansi Flick approves Joao Cancelo's signing

The Portuguese defender arrived at Camp Nou for his second loan stint from Al-Hilal during the January transfer window this year. He mostly played as a substitute, but got success in making an impact with his performances.

As per a report from Diario Sport, Flick has decided to keep Cancelo beyond his loan spell at Barca. Although, the Portuguese star still has one year left on his contract with Al-Hilal.
