Chelsea reportedly have their eyes set on Real Madrid loanee Endrick and are planning to get the forward in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Endrick's instant impact at Lyon
Currently at Olympique Lyon on loan, Endrick has seen his demand rise after creating an instant impact at the Ligue 1 club. The 19-year-old has amassed four goals in his first three matches at Lyon and became a sensation after scoring his first career hat-trick in a 5-2 league win against Metz.
His form is reported to have caught the eyes of Chelsea, with talkSport claiming that the Premier League club are now preparing a move to sign the Brazil international and are interested to pay at least €80 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Endrick moved to Lyon from Real Madrid earlier this month in hunt of regular playing minutes. He joined Los Blancos in 2024 from Palmeiras, but most of his games for the whites until his loan exit came as a substitute.
Amid the reports interest from Chelsea Endrick expressed his happiness at joining Lyon, saying:
"I think it's been really great playing in this league [Ligue 1]. It's strong and physical, with a lot of aggression. I like that. It wasn't a mistake [coming to Lyon]. Life is like that. My life has always been difficult, it's never been easy. I stay strong with the strength I receive from the people around me. This is just the beginning. People have always told me that Lyon is a great team and that I should come and play here, and the truth is that the team is, indeed, very good."
Endrick's contract with Real Madrid will expire in 2030.
Endrick was close to joining Chelsea in 2022
Chelsea have a long-time interest in Endrick, with reports claiming that they tried to sign the forward months after a Todd Boehly-led consortium took the ownership of the club.
In an interview with The Guardian in December 2023, Endrick's father, Douglas disclosed that they got an invitation from Chelsea and even went to London to see the club.
Endrick also confirmed how close he came to signing for the Blues, saying:
“I was very close. My parents really liked London, and everyone speaks very highly of it.”
Endrick will come back to Real Madrid at the end of the season after his loan deal with Lyon comes to an end.
