Al-Nassr's new manager Jorge Jesus has labeled Cristiano Ronaldo as 'the world's greatest human figure', highlighting the influence the forward has in the world of football.
Jorge Jesus appreciates Cristiano Ronaldo's influence
Jorge Jesus has always said positive things about Ronaldo since taking over the managerial duties at Al-Nassr. As per Jesus, Ronaldo's presence was a crucial factor in his decision to join the Saudi club.
In a recent appearance on RTP's Pimera Pessoa, Jorge openly expressed his admiration for the Portuguese striker's tenure at the top level football, but lambasted Portugal for not giving enough value to his experience.
"It's a sporting challenge. Ronaldo is different, even in biological age, which is why he's 40 and still playing. We both think very much alike outside of football. I'm 70, but I don't feel it in my psychological and physical life. Ronaldo is a global figure. We don't know how to value Ronaldo in Portugal. He's the world's greatest human figure. He's the world's greatest celebrity. He's far beyond the world of football," said Jesus.
Fans believe that Jorge Jesus will manage well enough to end Al-Nassr's trophy drought and help Ronald win his first title since being part of the Saudi club. Previously, Jesus spent two seasons at Al-Hilal and helped the side clinch four titles, including the league.
On July 14, Al-Nassr officially announced the appointment of Jorge Jesus. He expressed his wish to help Ronaldo win his first major title with Al-Nassr.
'Without his invitation, I certainly wouldn’t be there. The motivation will be great. I’m going to try to ensure that Al Nassr, which is one of the best clubs in Saudi Arabia, can win titles. Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who has always won everything he’s played for. He hasn’t won in Saudi Arabia yet. I’ll see if I can help him."
Cristiano Ronaldo, recently signed a new lucrative contract extension with Al-Nassr, welcomed the new coach following his arrival through social media. Although, the Portugal striker has yet to join the pre-season camp.
