Real Madrid has been going through big changes after a back-to-back trophyless season. While the club recently signed soon-to-be-announced Jose Mourinho, a former manager, they are also adding new players to the squad.

The Los Blancos have secured the signing of Dutch international right-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan. The 29-year-old defender will join the Spanish giants after his €20 million release clause is triggered. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dumfries has already accepted personal terms with Real Madrid, and the deal is now effectively closed, with only formal steps remaining.

Dumfries, known for his powerful runs down the flank, physical presence, and attacking contributions from the right-back position, has been a standout performer for Inter Milan since joining them in 2021. He played a key role in Inter’s recent Serie A title challenges and has earned over 50 caps for the Netherlands national team, including strong showings at major tournaments.

For Real Madrid, the addition of Dumfries provides valuable depth and competition on the right side of defense. His experience in high-pressure matches across Europe and his ability to contribute both defensively and in transitions will bolster the squad as they prepare for the upcoming La Liga and Champions League campaigns.

Financially, the €20 million fee represents strong value for a player of Dumfries’ quality and experience. The move marks another strategic acquisition for the 15-time Champions League winners as they continue to refresh their defensive options while maintaining their trademark attacking flair.
